Komodo

[Komodo Edit](http://activestate.com/products/komodo_edit/) is the editing
component of ActiveState's [Komodo
IDE](http://activestate.com/products/komodo_ide/). I have been finding it
useful for a lot of my editing tasks, partly because of its smooth support
for editing remote files. Komodo provides so many little features that I am
not going to list any more of them right now. Okay, I'll mention one more.
Komodo offers a very pleasant vi emulation mode which makes using it nearly
seamless for me. I find myself spending a lot less time in Emacs, and even a
little less time in Vim now that I have Komodo installed. It's not a perfect
replacement for the veterans, but it is a great editor for anyone that doesn't
have the rules of their favorite editor burned into their skull.

Check out their IDE, too. It is very useful without being burdened down by the
extra cruft that I've seen in the big boy IDEs. I've even gone so far as to
purchase it - the first editing environment that I've purchased since ...
Borland Turbo C++ 4.5? I did try to purchase [Zeus Edit](http://www.zeusedit.com/)
a while back, but was never able to complete the process.
